Life as a Cub Scout is fun, adventurous and rewarding.
Cubs meet on a Tuesday night. As a Cub Scout, your child will join their Cub Pack on exciting adventures, discovering hidden talents and exploring the world around them. Cubs is the second section of the Scouting Movement for 8 to 10 ½ year olds. In this section, excitement and adventure are key. The Cub Scout Programme offers Cub Scouts a huge variety of activities, indoors and outdoors, allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities.
Earn badges, get active and embrace the challenge
We believe that young people learn by doing, so our Cub Scout Programme is packed full of amazing activities to engage and challenge Cub Scouts of all abilities. You can expect your child to get involved in:
• camps
• water activities
• nature walks
• cooking
• crafts
• sports
• and many more…
The Promise
The Cub Scout Promise helps Cubs to understand and remember the values of Scouting. Every young person and Leader makes their Promise as part of being invested into Scouting. Speak to your Leader to find out more about investiture.
I promise that I will do my best
to do my duty to God
and to the Queen, to help other
people and to keep the Cub Scout Law
(other culture promises are available).
Cub Uniform
The Cub uniform consists of:
The Green Cub Sweatshirt: This can be purchased via Scout Stores Online or at Exeter Scout Shop (9 Ashton Road, Little Silver Activity & Training Centre, Exeter, EX2 8LN).
The Yellow and Black Group Necker: This is given to you as part of your son / daughters investiture.

Peace of Mind
To ensure your child is safe, Leaders adhere to our anti-bullying, equal opportunities, safety and child protection policies. Cub Scouts take part in activities and learn new
skills under the supervision of adult volunteers. They work effectively and safely with young people to deliver the Scout
Programme and have access to training to support them in their role.
